Game
- Ascension mode is here for Classic! Rise beyond your limits with ascended forms for every champion.
- Implemented ascension abilities and cooldowns for King, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook, and Pawn.
- Added ascension attack indicators and new status tiles to better telegraph ascended actions.
- Performance and memory optimizations to keep gameplay smooth during intense ascension sequences.
- General polish and bug fixes across Classic and Ascension flows.
- Fixed a bug where the final fight scene animation would disappear at the end of a wave in both Quick and Full modes.
- Released the Castle map, which alternates into rotation every 10 waves and lasts for 5 waves. Pillars provide strategic cover and tactical positioning opportunities.
- Character stories, lore, and relationship development are now woven into Classic game mode through dynamic dialogue sequences.
Interface
- Added an Ascension skill stats view in character details so you can study your ascended powerups.
- Updated tiles and status visuals to support Ascension effects.
- Various UI tweaks and quality-of-life improvements.
Sound
- Added new Ascension theme music.
- Fixed an issue with background music playback.
Game
- Fixed swipe functionality on mobile where it would sometimes keep the combinations stuck. Also added arrow keys for convenience on the bottom right of the game board.
- Fixed a broken sprite sheet on Hresh Gold causing game crashes.
- Bishop's Arcade is out! A whole new game mode. Inspired by Space Invaders, Helldivers, and of course Hresh.
- Made some improvements to off animation hresh deaths.
- Bishop's arcade comes with new sound animation and game music.
- Updated the Seer's attack animations; now he places flames on random tiles on top of targeting two player characters. No more teleports. It was too broken.
- Fixed kill stats to update in Arcade mode as well.
- Fixed an edge case bug with Hresh classic of infinite loop logic never progressing hresh moves.
- Fixed a bug in arcade mode causing wave end continue buttons to inevitably never work for player 2.
- Added Hresh Seer every 5 waves as a boss in Arcade mode
- Fixed a weird bug where in duo mode for Arcade, combinations would get stuck for player 2.
- Allow players to process / send continue more than once incase player 2 i.e. reconnects
- Fixed hresh seer causing kill animation on bishop when standing on tile 0, when he's actually not targeting her
- Released the Blue Boy Blue skins that are available as unlockables through the Battle Pass as exclusive Battle Pass skins.
Interface
- Added a show / hide icon for mobile mode to collapse the side menus, or bring them back. It will give users more property space to work with when crafting or even playing the game!
- Released the Battle Pass!
- Added up down arrow functionalities on mobile views to be able to easily navigate on tight pages. It will be located on the side menu on the right.
- Added a small tooltip on arcade to recommend players to use a keyboard and good internet.
- Improved the armory equip page for portrait mobile view, enhancing usability and visual layout on smaller screens.
Game
- Skins are now available in Hresh! Equip them in the Armory to give your characters a fresh new look.
- Fixed a critical bug when on character death, skins would get deleted too. Only weapons and consumables equipped by the character should be deleted, not skins
- The Hresh Seer has a new ability. He can now teleport any character (ally or enemy) to a random unoccupied tile. The selection is also random.
- Teleport locations for the Seer's new ability is set to two random tiles.
- Released the King & Queen Founder skins! A royal skin that symbolizes the founders of Hresh. The Blue Boy painting inspired blue with royal ivory white and jet black.
- Released the Rook Founder skin!
- Released the Bishop Founder skin!
- Released the Pawn Founder skin!
- Buffed viper and falcon swords, they don't miss anymore. Buffed Recurve bow, it also doesn't miss anymore.
- Released the Knight Founder skin!
- Skins now show respective designs when click on your units in-game in the middle where character stats show.
- Updated the game so that during winter, only enemy units freeze instead of ally units. A gift, rather than a curse during Christmas...
- The tree is revamped with a fresh new look! I've also added snowflakes to the night tiles during the holidays! I hope you enjoy it.
- Added new boss fight music that plays every 5 waves when the Hresh Seer and Hresh King show up!
Interface
- The Store Page has arrived! Explore what’s new. Overdrive skins are now available for purchase using credits or gold.
- Integrated Stripe checkout for gold pack purchases, payments are now processed right on the site.
- Introduced Overdrive skins and purchase logic for item transactions.
- You can now equip your unlocked skins from the Armory.
- Skins now replace default Armory icons, Champion Select visuals, and in-game animations—bringing Overdrive skins fully to life.
- View your purchase history anytime from your Profile page.
- Improved mobile layout across multiple pages for a smoother experience.
- Added show password / hide password functionality in login, signup, and forgot password fields to help users.
- Added forgot username feature in Grigorian Games homepage. Along with a refresh timer indicator for tracking Hresh login state.
- Fixed a specific overflow issue on a mobile dimension with gold store, not allowing users to scroll down to specific gold options.
- Added limited edition labels on Founder skins.

Other
- Gold pack purchases made with USD via Stripe now include personalized email receipts for your records.
- Emails from us now display “Grigorian Games” as the sender instead of “no-reply.”
- Added new gold pack icons.
- Added new Overdrive skin icons and sprites.
- Added skin / trinket (spoilers) icons for item types.
Game
- Added keyboard hero functionalities to the classic game mode. Users can now play Hresh with chess keyboard combinations. A-H & 1-8 markings have also been added.
- Fixed bug: When the wave is cleared, and user pauses, continue or end button would fail to work unless the game was refreshed.
- Fixed Game Queue: Duo Game queue (global queue, not the friend one) would break after 30 seconds, now it properly reconnects.
Interface
- Marketplace is now open. Head over and trade items with your friends or buy / sell items from the global auction house!
- Added game tips for the homepage and the classic game mode for new users to get acquainted with the environment better.
- Fixed various css layouts for mobile views.
- Cleaned up / updated leaderboard classic reward system. Now resets happen alongside rewards, and there's less wording & tracking required.
- Fixed a bug on equipping items not properly evaluating total quantity, preventing equipping the item.
- Updated marketplace with finalized images.
- Allow mobile overflow during captcha puzzles.
API
- Enabled strong consistency & idempotency to avoid item glitches during buying, selling, trading, or equipping

Game
- Fixed duo mode option flows & stream notifications (disconnects etc)
- Introduced a new enemy character --Hresh King!
- Selecting allies now also displays their attack information. If they have items, click them twice to switch between stats.

- Added two new enemy types: Hresh Blue Hybrid (a hybrid of Hresh Blue and Hresh Red) and Hresh Black Hybrid (a hybrid of Hresh Black and Hresh Gold).

- Fixed the queue timer for classic duo. Timer now properly starts when both players connect.
- Improved / fixed chat & friend queue (classic duo queues) connection issues.
- Fixed how leaderboards calculate placings. Duplicate names are no longer possible on the same board other than duo with different partners.
- Classic Leaderboards will now grant items as rewards!
- Classic Leaderboards will reset every quarter.

- Items have finally arrived to the game!
- Items drop at waves 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and every other 5 waves
- Implemented a plethora of weapons and consumables with their in-game logic.
- Using consumables delays ticks, but equipping/unequipping items does not.
- End turn is now tied to the tree tiles rather than character tiles. With the introduction of items, this makes the most sense since the king / queen will have their unique item options as well on the initial selections.
- Fixed a gameplay bug where if the pawn dies, it loses all the items equipped—whereas game rules state that all pawns have to die before they lose the items.
- Top Wave / Top Score now only show your best in your Profile page if you're victorious.
Interface
- Fixed a race condition bug when items won't show up properly after adding them to your character.
- Added social media links to the footer.
- Redesigned the craft page for a more user-friendly experience.
- Redesigned the home page with a diagonal cinematic style option picker and separated the pages respectively.
- Added ghost helper auto fills when crafting to help users identify build items more efficiently.
- Added game intro -- made the loading screen darker to make it easier on the eyes.
- Armory page is now here. Allow players to craft and setup character equipment at the armory.
- Forge components and craft weapons / consumables, then equip them on your characters.
- Added recipes page so users can check what components / items are required to craft consumables and weapons.
- Added profile page that nicely displays more details about the user's journey in the game. Kill counters. Personal PR's, etc.
- Fixed Armory Equip vertical view on smaller screens from cropping top the top
- Moved Game Invites on top on the chat menu.
Sound
- Added music volume, allowing the user to properly adjust the music volume.
Balancing
- Buffed Hresh King stats / cooldown
- Buffed up the Queen's Gambit special ability. She is now able to teleport anywhere on the map and perform a backstab like attack. This comes at the cost of potential poor repositioning with a long cooldown.
Network
- Critical network fixes that prevented mobile user-agent proxies.
Game
- Fixed a couple of timer bugs.
- You can now inspect where enemy units can move but also can potentially attack.
- Fixed king's option when encountering enemies upfront, now shows red as damage instead of gold (castle).
- Completely revamped the spawn logic with pocket clock rotation architecture.
- The game will show you safe pockets you should start migrating towards. Keep an eye out.
- Fixed a timer race condition bug where the other player would end the other player's turn on rare conditoins in duo mode.
- Fixed animations from not cutting out specific status tiles during fight scenes in quick mode.
- Added Mastery leaderboards for players who want to rise to the top with their hard work; rewarding players for their grind
- Revamped the leaderboards. Now your score is a secondary factor. Check How To Play for more details.
- You can now Pause / Resume your games for up to 12 hours for a single game at any time. In a queue for a different game? Need to walk your dog? Your mom is yelling at you? We've got you covered!
- Added a new holiday map for a new fun experience during the winter. Activates during the winter. All ally / enemy units have a chance to freeze during actions. Castling and healing remove frozen status
- Animations off by default. Game feels more fluent, more compatible with other mobile devices. Recommend on in Get Started for desktop users.
- Fixed game streams not disconnecting properly. Ally-reconnecting tiles are working now.
- Options are now more visible, removed tile overlap on unplayable characters.
- Cleaned up some animation flows that were unnecessary for animation off mode
- Implemented ability to turn Animations On/Off in Settings page.
- Completely revamped game flow with significantly enhanced animation speed for a more dynamic gameplay experience.
- Rebuilt all sprite sheets from the ground up to improve visual quality and performance.
- Introduced full mobile support with GPU-accelerated atlas resizing, optimizing the pixel art canvas to 4096x4096.
- Implemented numerous game optimizations to ensure smoother gameplay across all devices.
- 8 Hour downtime--drastically improved connection speeds.

- Improved ally connection status accuracy to better reflect disconnections and reconnections.
- Fixed critical performance issue causing game freezes during reconnection attempts.
- Resolved critical issue where rapid move sequences could cause stream processing delays.
- Fixed leaderboard issue where new 10th place entries weren't properly replacing existing ones.
- Releasing the ability to move every one of your characters.
- Increased the difficulty as you go farther in the waves.
- Fixed permanent disconnects due to poor connections, game reconnects after 2 seconds.
- Added your turn (Your Turn) indication to help signify players its their turn.
- Improved game timer visuals. Now shows green, yellow, red ticks as the timer goes down—timer also is now thicker.
- Added Wave: # indicator in the middle of the screen.
- Fixed game crash bugs due to miscalculated actions.
- Fixed game crashes / freezes that occur when clicking on a character action.
- Allow home page access to look up game rules while playing on the side.

- Increased loading screen indicated for game. Poor connections take longer to load.
Balancing
- Hresh Black now have an attack range of 1-2 from just 1.
- Adjusted enemy spawn type counts for duo mode to balance it even more.
- Spawn balancing -- made it a bit more difficult / interesting passed wave 15
- King's castle lets him continue with one more action.
- Queen's Gambit: Queen's diagonal special can now go up to two diagonals but forces her to move and close the gap.
- King can now remove shields when castling with enemy characters
- Bot spawns are more balanced now for both solo and duo.
- Bot spawn rows less aggressive towards the bottom rows, until later waves.
- Added new Castle ability for the King (Cooldown: 2) - Allows the King to swap positions with a unit within orthogonal range
- Added Hresh black, assassins that spawn in the back lines to create more tension in earlier waves.
- Queen can now attack all around her (diagonally in addition to horizontal / vertical), but still only has range 1.
- Buffed the Queen's dodge chances +10% -- now 60% from 50%
Settings
- Animations can now be toggled between the following modes: Off, Quick, Full.
- Added option to toggle background music
Chat
- Improved chat ban sensitivity. More exponential instead of immediate.
- Fixed chat view issue where long words / messages not wrap properly. Causing overflow-x on friend's list
